While research has yet to establish clear biological benefits of tuning to A=432 Hz, I believe there is something meaningful in this subtle lowering of pitch—in the ease of singing and in the connection we feel to the music and to ourselves. That belief guides my choice to tune approximately 31.8 cents below the standard A=440 Hz. Lowering the tuning shifts every note down while preserving the musical intervals between notes. Most people cannot hear the difference. Some songs you already hear on the radio are tuned this way. For me, in my effort to do my share, all my songs are tuned to 432.

No study-wide “overall biomarker” score exists. Findings below describe measured endpoints; favorable changes do not prove a unique tuning benefit.

Scope: journal articles plus thesis, conference/chapter/presentation and case evidence; not a systematic-review census. Controls vary (440, 443, 528, silence, other music); some reports may not isolate tuning. EEG changes alone do not establish health benefit.
